Objectives: The course addresses the role of the radiological assessor during an emergency, with an emphasis on emergency preparedness category IV (per GSR Part 7). The radiological assessor is a person or team who in the event of a nuclear or radiological emergency assists the operator or off-site response organizations by performing radiological surveys, performing dose assessments, controlling contamination, ensuring the radiation protection of emergency workers and formulating recommendations on protective actions and other response actions

Objective:        The Regional Workshop seeks to assist in the development of transport security regulations and enhancement of nuclear security culture for the nuclear industry in the West Africa sub-region. The Workshop shall address, among other things, foundations for Radioactive Material Transport Security, Application of Concepts on Radioactive Material Transport Security, and implementation of Radioactive Material Transport Security Programme.
